Professor Zhang Yanfen, (Han nationality), born in 1978 is from Jieyangxian, Guangdong Province. She graduated from Shandong University in 2009 with a Ph.D. in Literature, with Professor Qian Zengyi serving as her mentor and Dissertation Advisor.

Professor Zhang’s primary research fields areModern Chinese Dialectology, Comparative Linguistics,Language and Culture, and Folklore Studies. Her current and on-going research topics include The Chinese Language ResourcesProtection and PreservationProject (for which she shoulders the responsibility for a special sub-project) and The Shandong Language Resources Vocal Database Construction Project.
