Professor Kim Young-suk (Jin Yingshu), from Korea, is Professor of Comparative Literature and World Literatures in the School of Literature in Shandong University. She obtained her baccalaureate degree from Ewha Woman’s University, her MA from Beijing Normal University and her PhD from Nanjing University in 2002. She has taught at Ewha Woman’s University since 2003, and was a Visiting Professor at Duke University in the United States of America before joining the faculty of Shandong University in 2016. She has published dozens of academic articles in Chinese as well as in Korean. Professor Kim’s most representative publications include the monograph A Study of the Textual Transformation ofPipaji (Tale of the Lute), China Bookstore, 2003 and “Keeping the Posture while Changing the Steps: Mei Lanfang’s Life and Art”, (translated from the Chinese into the Korean language, 2014). Her research fields and topics include: East Asian Drama and East Asian Modernity; Trans-cultural Theater Studies; Cultural Translation and Comparative Literature; Postcolonial Literature and Cinema; Feminism and Global Feminist literature.
