Dr. Liu Xiaoyi has been a Research Fellow at the Institute of Comparative and World Literatures in the School of Literature, Shandong University, since 2017. She earned her BA from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Shandong University, and both MA and PhD degrees from the Department of East Asian Studies, University of Arizona in the United States of America. She has served, successively, as a Localization Specialist and Financial Translator for Charles Schwab Inc., a Lecturer for the Outreach College, University of Arizona; Senior Lecturer and Director of the Asian Studies Program Minor at Northern Arizona University, and Research Fellow for Westminster College (the above in the USA.) In China, she has served as Guest Professor for the School of Literature and Journalism, Shandong University. She has published five monographs, nineacademic articles and papersin CSSCI -source journals (China) and in English-language academic journals, and more than thirty works in translation. Her research areas include: Comparative Cultural History; History of Material Cultures in the Ming Dynasty Period; History of the Republic of China Period; and Chinese-English Domestication Translation Strategy.
