Around the 112th anniversary of Shandong University a group of overseas famous scholars, coming from the United States, Japan, Spain, South Korea, and China's Taiwan and Hong Kong, visited LJS(the School of Literature & Journalism) successively. They attended international conferences, discussed cooperation in education, communicated academic information, gave lectures on special topics. The tenured professor of Shandong University Zeng Fanren, the dean of LJS Zheng Chun and other related fields professors respectively met with guests and extensively discussed on deepening cooperation with them.

Ding Bangxin, the famous linguist and academician in academia Sinica of Taiwan, attended the “International Summit Forum about Dialectology ” held by LJS. Likewise, professor Jing Yongjian, from Literature Division of Kyushu University in Japan, attended the “International Symposium for Commemorating 30 Anniversary of the Founding of Wen-hsin tiao-lung Society ”. Then both professors gave their academic lectures respectively named "Several Relevant Issues on Chinese Language and Literature" and "Research on Song of a Pipa by Bai Juyi " when they visited the New Xingtan. Juan Ripolles, a famous modern artist from Spain, was invited to give a wonderful lecture on“Rainbow: Juan Ripolles’s World”to teachers and students of LJS. At last, Mr. Juan drew a painting and donated it to Literature and Journalism School on the spot. Professor of Applied Linguistics Tao Hongyin, also the director of Chinese Division in American California University communicated with graduate students who majored in linguistics, concerning “the Use and Construction of Multimodal Parallel Corpus”. The dean of Humanities and Social Science School of Hong Kong Science and Technology University Li Zhongqing, the son of Li Zhengdao who was the first Chinese Nobel laureate in physics, visited LJS with his colleagues. They held discussions with directors in charge of LJS on some topics, including academic exchanges, master projects and undergraduate summer courses etc, and reached cooperation programs as the result.The President of South korea's modern designers Association and Professor of Visual Design Department An Changgao, professor Li Zongze, and Oscar - Alghero, the director of San Jose (Silicon Valley) Art Hall with deputy director Christopher Ding successively visited Brand and Communication Research Institute which had signed cooperation agreements with San Jose (Silicon Valley) Art Hall.Besides, professor An Changgao brought an academic lecture whose theme was "Design Changes the World - to Create a Modern Life."

In order to further expand the road of internationalization of traditional superior disciplines, LJS was continuing to explore, to practice, and had made significant progress in many fields. On the one hand, it strengthened the already cooperation with famous departments at home and abroad, and deepened cooperation model; on the other hand, more overseas scholars would be invited to be here to give lectures and communicate, more foreign students would be attracted to study. LJS would give full play to its professional advantages and contribute efforts to make the world know SDU and its profound Chinese cultural connotations.
