Professor Xu Aimei, who hails from Hezexian, Shandong Province, was born in 1975. She holds a PhD degree in Literature, and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Literature, Shandong University. Her major area of research is the genres of opera and novels in theYuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
Professor Xu’s work experience is as follows:

· April 2010 – August 2011 Instructor, Confucius Institute at the University of Bergen, Norway
· October 2007 – October 2011 Postdoctoral Fellow, Postdoctoral Research Station of Chinese history, School of History and Culture, Shandong University
· Since January 2001 Faculty member (starting as Instructor), School of Literature, Shandong University
· July 1999 – December 2000 Instructor, Department of Social Sciences, Shandong University of Technology
