Professor Ye Chengsheng was born in 1968. He received a BA degree in Literature from Shandong University in 1989, anMA degree in Modern Chinese Literature from East China Normal University in 1992, and a Ph.D in Literature and Art from Shandong University in 2001. He has been on the faculty of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Shandong Universitysince 1992. In 2002-2003, he was an exchange faculty member at Dongseo University of South Korea. In 2008, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles. Over the years, Professor Ye has offered undergraduate courses such as " Modern Chinese Literature" and "Chinese Writing". Since 2002, he has offered courses such as "Modern Novels and Modernity" and "Contending Scholarly Voices in the Arena of Modern Literature" for graduate students. Professor Ye has authored and published two monographs, co-edited one, and participated in writing several others. He has written papers and articles published in a variety of scholarly journals such as Literary Review, Miscellaneous Publications of Studiesin Modern Chinese Literature, Wen-Shi-Zhe (A Journal of Literature, History and Philosophy), and Contending Voices in Literature and Art.
