Born in October 1944, Professor Wang Zhouming graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Shandong University in 1981. He has an MA degree in Literature, and holds the rank of Professor in the School of Literature at Shandong University. He also serves as a Dissertation Advisor for Ph.D students. He is Vice President of The Chinese Academy of Shijing (Classic of Poetry) Studies, a Director of The Chinese Society of Qu Yuan Studies, anda Vice President of the Shandong Association of Classical Literature Studies. Professor Wang’s primary field ofresearch is the culture and literature of the pre-Qin period and of the Qin, Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties. Major monographic studies authored and published by Professor Wang include:
· The Culture and Literature of the Pre-Qin Period and of the Qin, Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties;
· Annotations and Commentaries on The Works of Jia Yi; (co-authored),
· A History of Literature and Art in the Qi Region; (co-authored),
· The Spirit of Chinese Literature (The Han-Dynasty Volume);
· Draft Discourses on Shi and Fu Poetry
Professor Wang is also Chief Editor of Biographies of the Grand Masters of Chinese Literature.
