Professor Wang Zuzhe graduated from baccalaureate studies from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Shandong University in 1985, and earned his Ph.D. in Literature and Art from the School of Literature and Journalism and Communication of Shandong University in 2004.
His primary research interests are in the areas of:
1. Analytical aesthetics;
2. The definition and essence of art; the relationship between art and culture; the relationship between art and language;
3. The Aesthetics of Giambattista Vico and Benedetto Croce
Aside from his professional work in university teaching and university-based research, Professor Wang is also engaged in the work of translating foreign-language academic and semi-academic works into Chinese for the Chinese reading public.
