In recent years, based on our existing amenities, the College has, through the efforts of many parties, further improved our available teaching hardware. The University invested 4,730,082 yuan to build laboratories to upgrade foundational course teaching and experiment equipment, as well as to overhaul water and electricity facilities in labs, and today, these satisfy essentially all teaching and research requirements. The laboratory is equipped with 85 computers, has teaching and research equipment on average worth 5,615 yuan per student, as well as an average of 10 computers for every 100 students. Teaching and research equipment is continually updated, and has mostly been purchased in the past 5 years. Problem analysis during experiments, topical research work, and operational training play an important role in undergraduate teaching. The establishment and improvement of the six laboratories in our College have significantly improved teaching methods and research conditions for students, and have provided more opportunities for students to broaden their horizons and cultivate their practical working abilities. The first College of Literature laboratory was established in 1984. Each present laboratory is used as follows:
① The microcomputer laboratory mainly focuses on courses such as foundational computer culture, multimedia network communication, Chinese information processing, and computer graphic design.
② The network laboratory mainly focuses on courses such as network information and network technology.
The College of Literature laboratories provide a good experiment platform for teaching and scientific research. The laboratory has reached the level required by the country, and offers diverse experimental opportunities and advanced experimental techniques and methods. Before each experiment, the staff prepares experimental equipment for students who attend class. During experiments, the staff patiently explain to students so that they can truly combine theory with practice, improve their creative abilities, and broaden their horizons, thereby helping students reach their expected educational goals and achieve real results. After class, the experimental equipment is promptly checked, and the necessary maintenance and repair is performed.
